Melange Birulio, Dpl. Ps

Melange Birulio is a licensed psychologist in Montreal. She has over 25 years of clinical experience. She obtained her psychologist’s license in Brazil in 1990. She is currently working as a clinical psychologist in private practice and at Raymond-Dewar Institute in the Language Disorders Program (L-TTA.)  

She is specialized in cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychoanalysis, psychodrama, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness and the symbology of dreams. She is completed a year of a master program in creative arts and drama therapy at Concordia University.  She has also benefited from a specialized training in the assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders at the University Institute of Mental Health Douglas Anxiety Disorders Clinic, as well as a two-year training in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It offers treatment for people suffering from with anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, bereavement or significant loss, couples relationships, divorce, work-related accidents or in general, pain and chronic diseases, phobias, etc.

She is fully trilingual (English, French, and Portuguese).

Her basic approach to the understanding of human psychology which she employs to make her diagnosis and guide her interventions is based on acceptance, motivation and goals, as well as psychodynamic. In addition, she also uses mindfulness therapy, behavioral activation, art therapy and creativity, play therapy, cognitive behavioral and humanistic approaches when required.
